Why do people think you MUST start with your elbow up in order to hit the ball well?

Just looked at pics of @jessmendoza & @gotbustos - both relaxed arms in stance waiting 4 pitch - back elbow NOT up.
Oh gosh - someone trying to tell me top level hitters all have their “elbow up.”
DDs pitching practice in the back yard went well. Now to keep it up until the 3rd week of August!
Heading to the back yard to catch for DD.

Oh my goodness…ice cold water tastes soooooooo delicious! No lemon or added flavor. Just plain water with lot of ice…Mmmmmm
Okay, I better get off the computer and go sharpen and label the 144 pencils my DDs need for the 1st day of school tomorrow.
